Прочитал автобиографию . Сначала было немного скучно, а потом увлекся и нашел массу интересного. Во-первых, незаурядная личность. Во-вторых, жизнь в соревнованиях, постоянной борьбе, самоутверждении. В-третьих, интересные детали бизнеса профессионального тенниса. И, наконец, в-четвертых, как мне показалось, 80% успеха в большом теннисе зависит от психологических факторов. Книга о том, каких невероятных усилий требует мировой успех даже для самых одаренных людей. Хотя эта книга о спортсмене и спорте, но, думаю, очень полезна для всех, кому приходится постоянно вести конкурентную борьбу, особенно для деловых людей.

The word ‘accomplishment’ indicates something beyond ‘achievement’. Everybody can achieve something but not necessarily accomplish something. So, not every achiever is an accomplisher. Accomplishment takes achievement to the level of maturity.

Any social science, in order to make sense of social world, should go beyond common sense (the otherwise, what’s the point?). But when it goes beyond common sense, it tends to lose its credibility.
Negotiating deadline
The deadline is a tricky instrument of negotiation. On the one hand, it is hard to reach an agreement on important issues without setting up some deadlines, but on the other, the deadline can foster unprepared agreements. Obviously, the deadline should work for negotiating parties but not vice-versa. But to do so negotiators should spend time negotiating deadlines. In other words, before putting any deadline, the sides have to reach an agreement on deadline policies and implementations. However, beforehand they have to negotiate on the possibility of deadline negotiation.

Here is another presentation on using social media in public diplomacy – a comparative analysis of the Indian Embassies’ FB activities in Uzbekistan and Russia. The authors of this presentation are – M.T., S.S., S.Y., R.Y., F.Y. and A.G. – 4th year students of UWED. That was done in the context of our Public Diplomacy class (and I publish this presentation with the permission of the authors). It is not a comprehensive study but rather students attempt to understand the using of social media as an instrument of public diplomacy.
